The Spiral Labyrinth

One of my most favorite places in the world is New Orleans, and one of my favorite places in New Orleans is the labyrinth at Audobon Park. I wanted to recreate some of the feelings I have when in New Orleans, and so I decided to add in our own labyrinth. Since I am not rich, a brick chartres pattern labyrinth was out of the question, and so I found far less expensive alternatives.

Our home is situated on a two and a half acre lot that 20 years ago was completely mowed. Since then we have been allowing areas of the land to rewild. We have been eliminating invasive species and adding in more natural selections.

In effect, we are creating a mini nature retreat, and have plans for several other improvements over the next two years.

I know I am fortunate and would like to share that good fortune with all of you, by opening The Spiral Labyrinth to the public by appointment.

We do not charge, though love offerings for maintenance and improvements are accepted. We also are more than willing to accept physical assistance with maintenance and improvements!

This is a quiet area perfect for meditation, yoga, or quiet reflection.

We offer benches, a hammock, tree swing, Bluetooth speakers to play music or meditations from your own devices, a solar fountain, and use of a small fire pit and bistro table with 2 chairs.

We will soon be working on adding in garden beds that will contain insect repelling herbs.

More exciting additions will be announced in the future! We are located in Ringwood, just minutes from McHenry, IL.
